Probably because they have a monopoly over the industry so we can’t avoid them.
On July 15, I spoke with an agent who confirmed my tickets are legit and valid. I was concerned due to the disappearance of the barcode in my app, so I asked if he could explain the error with the barcodes and was transferred to another agent who was incredibly unhelpful and told me the tickets had been surrendered. I did not surrender the tickets. She told me I need to contact the original owner, whom I do not know and repeatedly interrupted me when I desperately asked for help, details or clarification. Ticketmaster's policy is that only the most recent ticket holder (transfer) holds a valid ticket, so how were mine taken without my knowledge? I was never warned about this possible loophole; nor does your website warn about the possibility. Ticketmaster's site explicitly states once tickets are transferred, the original owner no longer has access and their tickets are no longer valid.
My tickets were purchased legitimately according to all guidelines and recommendations provided by Ticketmaster and then validated by Ticketmaster multiple times before being stolen from my account. This is fraud and it’s being legalized and allowed by Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster is perpetuating a new scam where sellers are able to transfer real tickets, collect real money and then falsely report them as stolen to get to keep both! Ticketmaster is aware of the scam, doesn't advertise or warn about it, and won't protect you as a fair and honest consumer.
To add, I received a letter in the mail today that my account was affected by a data breach. Is that related to this issue? Did this cause all of the chaos in my account? I can't get anyone at Ticketmaster to answer this for me. I have the letter in hand and screenshots of all written correspondence and can provide to anyone who needs it to get this resolved. Ticketmaster will only provide fair service if you purchase via their resale platform ensuring they are paid fees twice for the same ticket. They are doubling down on the monopoly they have over the industry. It was impossible for me to get a ticket via their platform during the presale disaster and now it's equally impossible for me to even get one paying astronomical prices via resale because I'll never have a guarantee they won't allow the original seller to take it back.
Ticketmaster continues to give me mixed information and misinformation with some agents still claiming my tickets are valid! One representative said she escalated this for supervisor help and the next agent said that request was never made. I need legitimate tickets reissued in a safe way that will not be able to be surrendered without my permission or completely new tickets issued. I am even happy to purchase new tickets at a fair price.
It is unfair and unethical for Ticketmaster to say 'I can assure you your ticket is legit' (their words not mine, see screenshot) and then go back on that with no warning and at no fault of mine!

I felt like it was important that the customer service individual that I was talking to he did kind of but basically resolve my problem and told me I had to call the customer service within the next 3 days or within the next 5-7 days so I asked him if it would be okay if I called within the next 3 days Saturday so basically gave me a good feedback to where I felt comfortable with the situation that I was in with my tickets being erased from my email address and so I felt like there is hope by getting these Iron Man tickets for October the 18th 2024 it is very important that I go to this concert because it means the world to me that I bought these tickets they were there's a mean why I bought them because I seen Iron Man back in the '80s with Saxon and fast way at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City Utah so this is like a reunion for me for me to have these tickets and take a good friend of mine with me to go see this show so that's why I put so much interest in time by retrieving my tickets again in my email thank you so much Ticketmaster have a great day Robert Benjamin

My issue has been resolved!
Apparently there was a miscommunication of why my tickets were cancelled. There was still the issue of a failure to notify me so that I could hurry and get similar seats before they were gone, so I was provided a even better set of tickets for the same price :).
On 9/11, I received an email stating that I could now access and sign into my TM account. I signed in and my tickets were no longer there! Yesterday, 9/12, I called TM to find out why my tickets were no longer in my account and the representative placed me on hold to research. He then said that the original buyer of the tickets requested a refund from TM for their original ticket purchase and TM issued a refund to the original buyer and cancelled my tickets!! (Recorded call). How is this possible? How can Ticketmaster give a refund when that person no longer owned them because they were sold to me and were transferred and accepted into my Ticketmaster account?! Also, I thought there were no refunds unless the event was cancelled, and the event was not cancelled. It just doesn't make any sense! They said I needed to contact StubHub for a refund. I told them I don't want a refund, I want my tickets back because I have non-refundable flights and hotel accommodations because the event is out of state.
So, I called StubHub and was told that my tickets were valid when I purchased them on StubHub, and I was able to claim them, and they were transferred into my TM account. I accepted them and saw them in my TM account so, TM must have issued the original buyer a refund after that!
Why would TM issue the original buyer a refund when the original buyer no longer owned the tickets? TM obviously made a mistake when issuing a refund to the original buyer and that is their error!! I need my tickets back from Ticketmaster or comparable seats because they stole my tickets out of my account!
On top of all of this, you would think they would have notified me when they cancelled the order and took my tickets – not a word! If I hadn't logged in to view details about the event, I would not have even known until after taking my flight, checking into the hotel, getting ready, and getting to the venue!
Please help me resolve this today or I will be forced to file a complaint with BBB and potentially pursue legal action. I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter. Thank you!

I bought 5 tickets for the Foo Fighters show in Denver for my kids that were coming out to visit me but Frontier cancelled their initial flight the day before the concert & then their next day flight was majorly delayed & they did not arrive in Denver till 130am on Sunday morning after the Foo Fighters show had ended. I did go to the concert but was hoping to get 4 tickets to another show for them 4 in Camden NJ & have some dates & shows they wanted to go to since we paid for this one but 4 of the 5 tickets went unused & I did everything I could to reach out to you all prior to this show as well as sell the 4 tickets but did not have luck with either. Please can someone call

I was asked to upload to Ticketmaster to make it easy to be scanned in. I am not tech savvy, Im 70 and trying to just get seats to see this, and surprise my 28 year old son.
I had an account with Ticketmaster over 20 years ago, so that information has changed. I did purchase two tickets today, received confirmation, and then purchased a parking ticket - which also has a seat number, and it was confirmed.

I have been trying to get paid for over a week now. I have verified my account, my card, and my tax ID. Now, it asks me to re-verify my card and tax when I am near completion.
I cannot get ahold of anyone in customer service, and before I escalate to the CEO and seek external counsel, I am asking Ticketmaster to get this right. Please pay me by COB 7/30, or I will start with social media, escalate to the CEO, and begin seeking an attorney for damages.

I paid for 2 tickets to Daniel Tosh, and paid for a parking ticket, and then ended up losing them because I was following instructions to make it easy to be scanned in upon arrival. I am not tech-savvy, I'm 70 years old, I have a Ticketmaster account that is over 20 years old, and that was a nightmare with passwords. All I want to do is surprise my 28-year-old son by getting good seats, and take him to this show.

I purchased tickets on StubHub and received a text from Ticketmaster to get my tickets and all I did was go in circles! The wait time of 47 minutes is ridiculous! The purchase went thru quickly but no tickets!

I used the Ticketmaster app in March 2024, to purchase 4 tickets to Whiskey Myers concert in Maine on 8-16-24.
The Ticketmaster app showed that the concert was almost sold out and the remaining tickets were expensive. I purchased 4 tickets for a total of $567.00!
I then needed another ticket a couple of weeks ago so I went back on the Ticketmaster app only to see that there were TONS of tickets for sale at $30.00 each!!
WHAT?!!!

Ticket-Central and I have been SCAMMED!!! I've called all the phone numbers I could find and none are working!! I've sent emails and have had no response.
I've been scammed at the fault of Ticketmaster!
I was so upset that I didn't even go to the concert!
I gave them the opportunity to resolve this and refund me, or I would contact the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission and post a horrible review on their website.

Ticketmaster sent me an email yesterday morning telling me that my event next Monday has changed venue and if I need to get in touch with them or want a refund, to get in touch with them through their help and I have 24 hours to decide whether I wanted a refund. Since then, I have been trying tirelessly to write to them on email, chat to them through the chat on the app but I am left helpless. This company in my eyes is the worst company that I have ever dealt with in my life.

I am absolutely livid with Ticketmaster and their despicable practices that allow promoters and venues to get away with straight-up robbery! It's beyond infuriating that they permit these deceitful promoters to advertise concerts with a specific lineup, only to turn around and change it after people have already forked over their hard-earned money for tickets.
And to add insult to injury, Ticketmaster has the audacity to refuse refunds to the misled customers! Ticketmaster allowed the venue/promoter to promote a concert with Tamar Braxton in the middle of the flyer for a show in St Louis on 2/18. After I purchased tickets, Tamar Braxton was removed from the flyer and Ticketmaster refuses to issue a refund.
This is nothing short of a scam, facilitated by Ticketmaster's complicity. It's crystal clear that Ticketmaster is prioritizing their profits over the rights and satisfaction of their customers.
Allowing promoters to pull the rug out from under unsuspecting concert-goers and pocket their cash without providing any recourse is utterly reprehensible.
Customers shouldn't have to suffer the consequences of Ticketmaster's lack of oversight and accountability. It's outrageous that they are turning a blind eye to this blatant theft. By enabling promoters to engage in this deceptive practice, Ticketmaster is essentially condoning theft and fraud.
BE WARE IF YOU ARE PURCHASING TICKETS FROM TICKETMASTER that has multiple artist on the line up. If the line up changes after you purchase tickets, Ticketmaster doesn't care and won't help you get a refund because profit means more to them than customer satisfaction.

Be very careful,when dealing with these people. The Colts organization was of no help either.
